Vrraka:
The King is Me

Spanish-language chamber opera · 58 minutes

A queen who refuses to be reduced to a consort

The opera focuses on Urraca I of León, the first queen regnant in Europe, and on the conflict between legitimacy, desire, political violence and the construction of identity.

The score integrates solo voice, choir and a flexible orchestra within a concentrated dramatic continuum. It can be presented as a dramatised concert, semi-staged production, heritage-site adaptation or fully staged opera.
